I was replacing my liquid metal thermal paste on my delidded i7 6700k, and in the procedure of using the Artic Silver Surface Purifier, I used a bit too much while holding the CPU and some of it dripped onto my finger and so onto the bottom of my CPU (golden contact plates that see the motherboard). There'southward some slight discoloration and I actually want to clean it, only I simply have this isopropyl seventy% cleaning pad that came with my coollaboratory liquid metallic kit titled "Reinigungstuch". I've seen people utilise ~91% isopropyl alcohol and q tips on the bottom of their CPU, only are the pads safe plenty to use? Should I be worried?

I as well use Rubbing Alcohol for everything. I propose xc%+ considering seventy% exit a remainder on things. Kinda annoying to have to double wipe things subsequently they are make clean. If you are in a pinch seventy% works fine.

I must emphasize that this is the Bottom of the CPU I'm speaking of. Instead of contact pins, they're apartment plates, and I'1000 reluctant on how conscientious I should be in cleaning them with this pre-clammy cloth

I knew what you were talking almost. I remember the plates are actually much better than pins. They are much safer, every bit they are much harder to damage. Yous volition be fine cleaning them with the alcohol.

I got some ArtiiClean Thermal Surface Purifier on a small portion of it and my OCD is killing me, I actually simply want to wipe it with my 70% cleaning pad simply I'k then scared lol.

I've cleaned the IHS with whiskey before because I left my remover somewhere else. Should be fine just bank check there's no residue later on.
